Our annual open trials for the Elite Squad (U-16) take place on Saturday 18 October, 7:00 AM at the Everest Academy Ground. Any player born on or after 1 September 2010 may attend β you do not need to be a current Everest student.
How the morning runs
- 6:15 AM β registration opens at the pavilion. Bring a parent or guardian and proof of date of birth.
- 7:00 AM β warm-up and fielding assessment in groups of twelve.
- 7:45 AM β batting and bowling nets, two lanes per group, every ball logged by our scorers.
- 9:30 AM β short match-scenario games for shortlisted players.
What selectors look for
Not finished cricketers β coachable ones. We score basics under fatigue, shape and repeatability of action, running between the wickets, and how a player responds to a mistake. Raw pace and big hitting are noted, but a twelve-year-old with a still head and quick feet will beat them every time.
What to bring
Whites or sports kit, your own bat and pads if you have them (academy kit is available), spikes or astro shoes, and a filled water bottle. Helmets are provided and mandatory in every hard-ball net.
Results are sent to parents by phone within three days. Selected players receive an Elite Squad offer with the fee schedule β and yes, attending the trial is completely free. Register in advance through the free trial form mentioning "U-16 trials" or just walk in on the day.
